How Much Does Custom Software Actually Cost in Québec?

Group Crazy Pineapple · July 2026 · 7 min read

Every client asks this before the first call ends, and every agency dodges it with "it depends." Fair — it does depend. But after 250+ projects, we can give you actual ranges instead of a shrug.

Here's what custom software costs in Québec right now, broken down by what you're actually building.

The Ranges, By Project Type

ProjectTypical Range (CAD)
Marketing website (design + build, no backend)$3,000 – $8,000
Booking / lead capture site with automation$6,000 – $15,000
Client dashboard or internal tool (single business)$12,000 – $35,000
Multi-tenant SaaS platform (subscriptions, multiple clients)$35,000 – $120,000+
AI feature added to existing software$4,000 – $20,000
Native mobile app (iOS + Android)$20,000 – $70,000

Those ranges are wide because two projects with the same label can be completely different jobs. A "client dashboard" for a moving company with three staff logging trucks is not the same build as a dashboard for a dental clinic chain handling patient records, invoicing, and appointment reminders across nine locations.

What Actually Moves the Price

Four things push a quote up or down more than anything else:

Rule of thumb: if a quote doesn't ask which of these four applies to you, it's not a real quote — it's a guess with a dollar sign on it.

Quotes That Should Make You Walk Away

We've seen the pattern enough times to name it. Watch for:

  1. A single flat number with no breakdown. "$15,000, done" tells you nothing about what happens when scope shifts — and it always shifts a little.
  2. No mention of who owns the code. Some agencies build on their own proprietary platform. You pay, but you never actually own what was built — you're renting it forever.
  3. A price that's suspiciously low for a multi-tenant platform. $8,000 for a real SaaS product usually means either it's a template with your logo on it, or the agency is planning to make it up on "maintenance fees" later.

What We Actually Charge

We scope every project against the four factors above before quoting — which is why our numbers land inside the ranges in that table, not below them. We've built for transport companies, dental clinics, construction firms, and moving companies across Canada and Peru, and the projects that go well are the ones where the client understood the price before signing, not after the third invoice.

If you want a real number instead of a range, tell us what you're building — we'll scope it honestly, including telling you if it's smaller (and cheaper) than you think.
